Message from the Vice Dean for Teaching Leaning Directorate

On behalf of the Directorate, I am pleased to welcome to you Hosanna College of Health Sciences who are navigating through our college web page seeking information about the college and Teaching Learning Directorate activities. All members of the college Academic staffs are working in harmony towards the achievement of the set vision and missions of the college. The directorate effects and ensures the implementation of every academic decision and directives issued by the board and academic commission. The academic staff is committed to training students to become skilled and compassionate health care providers ready to make valuable contributions to their chosen profession and the communities they serve according to quality education.

Since its foundation, we have enjoyed remarkable growth in the number of students, School of Departments, and staff, as well as in the expansion of our academic programs and community service. 

Currently, the college hosts and trains students in Level IV Diploma and Generic and Post basic Degree program in Nine departments namely:-department of Nursing, department of Midwifery, department of Medical laboratory Science, department of Health Informatics, department of Pharmacy, department of Medical Emergency Technician, department of family Health, department of public health in Health Extension and Environmental Health program. Bachelor of Science has been one of the recently established under Degree program in to six departments since 2020.

 The Teach-learning Directorate has been strongly striving to improve the teaching learning processes via the recently refined and need-based National curricula through student-center learning process in regular programs.  For the successful delivery of theoretical and practical training, the college has organized class Rooms, Demonstrations and computer laboratories, in addition to the real practices setup across the Hospitals and Health Centers.
