CEP is committed to produce qualified, competent and competitive health professionals who are educated to act in compassionate, respectful and caring approach, to make outstanding contribution by identifying & solving community problems through  research in line with the college and national quality education strategy & health policy

Major Duties of the CEP Coordinator Planning

  1. Planning, implementing and evaluating department programs that promote academic excellence in teaching, research& community services.

  2. Initiates and prepares short, medium and long term plans for the improvement and expansion of continuing education program/CEP; 

  3. .Works with the Academic Directorate Director in announcing the program, recruiting and placing new students;

  4. .Consults the academic commission on matters pertaining to continuing education program

  5. .Prepares time tables for teaching learning activities and examination concerning continuing education program and monitors their implementation;

  6. Prepares proposal on the rate of tuition fees for the various services rendered  under the program, and presents it to the academic commission;

  7. Prepares and submits report on its activities to the Academic Directorate Director;

  8. Ensuring equal access of required resources for the program, staffs and CEP students.

  9. Implementing the directives and decisions issued by academic commission and college higher officials based on new CEP guideline. 

  10. Making sure the proper documentation and handling of the CEP office data & student records

  11. Serving on various committees as needed and other duties as assigned by higher officials.

CEP customers are

  • Academic & administrative staffs of the college, students& their family and Community.

Stakeholders 

  • Federal Ministry of Health &EducationRegional Health Bureau, Health facilities

  • College Higher officials, EDC, academic staffs, administrative staff and all departments.

  • Zonal & Woreda health bureau/ offices, Universities, Colleges, Gusts and Community.

Also, we undertake research not only for academic curiosity and promotion but also to solve the prominent problems of the community, never compromise the professional component of our academic and research performance for material or financial benefits. Collaboration is critical, both for ideation and developing an actionable plan. Effectiveness & efficiency of a system solely built on the collective decision & team cohesiveness, and hence we work & decide in a team to achieve a common organizational goal. And we deliver service to every client every day; the client is our first priority in everything we do to ensure satisfaction. 

Continuing Education Program/ CEP Principles are:

Understanding our community’s preferences is invaluable. So that, we are wholehearted to make all the CEP office services friendly, righteous and fair to accommodate all customers and stakeholders.

Current CEP Programs: Both in diploma & degree are Midwifery, Pharmacy, Med. Laboratory and Comprehensive nurse. And Emergency Medical Technician/EMT has only diploma program. CEP operates the teaching learning process on a modular basis for diploma program and semester based for degree program based on national/ FMOE curriculum implementation strategy of TVET & higher education institutions respectively. 

Planned CEP Programs in the future: Identifying an educational need of the community and make provision to meet these needs by proposing, in consultation with the appropriate department, programs leading to college degrees and diplomas. 

Therefore, to meet the college missions of reaching the public at large through quality education, research and technology transfer, we planned to launch continuing education programs in all departments currently running regular programs and also to introduce new programs like information technology (IT) in diploma& degree level, MPH &MSC /2nd degree in selected fields of studies.
